What are Koodai Baskets/Wire Baskets?

They are handwoven bags and baskets made from recycled LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene). It is CODE 4 LDPE which is crushed bottles, shopping bags, highly resistant sacks and most of the wrappings.

They are water resistant, long-lasting, and environmentally friendly, and you can rely on them. Plastic woven sacks (PWS) are completely reusable and recyclable.

Who created them, and why? Who is the intended beneficiary?

Single mothers, widows, mute, and struggling mothers, in particular, to generate income and keep crippling poverty from consuming their families.
Thalir-LEED is looking for experienced, certified, and skill-developed, trained artisan of 'The New LEED' for their handmade creative products in order to provide a sustainable livelihood.

Who is assisting them? What is the role of Thalir-LEED?

Thalir-LEED is a mom-run organisation that empowers and provides skilled women, particularly struggling single mothers, who have fewer advantages, privileges, and opportunities than most people. It is a platform for them to stand on their own two feet.

What do we need from you?

To assist them by purchasing or selling these baskets.
-To work as a volunteer for the organisation.
-Teach them a new skill in order to promote their work, and to occasionally encourage and spend time with them.

Which baskets require the most time? 

More time is spent on Sivankann baskets, beach baskets, laundry baskets, and extra large storage baskets.

How are the prices calculated?

The prices are calculated based on the cost of materials and labour charges, excluding GST. Furthermore, all prices are based on material market rates (fluctuations based on crude oil prices). Furthermore, the cost of postage and shipping varies depending on distance and weight.

What is the location of The New LEED, NGO and what is its role in Thalir-LEED? 

The New LEED, NGO has been assisting underprivileged women for 30 years, with a focus on Perungudi and Kallukottai for the past ten years. They are located behind Ambedkar Law College in Chennai. They train them for skill development so that they can become self-sufficient, and Thalir-LEED takes over these skilled artisans to sell more of their creative products.

Simply search for your product, choose a size from the dropdown menu, select quantity and colours and click add to cart. Most importantly, when you place an order, you are supposed to give an advance amount to ensure the confirmation from you.

How are the products made?

Our products are made from recycled LDPE plastic, which is good for the environment and is used to make wire bags that are thick, high-quality, easy to breathe, and low-polluting. Our Thalir-LEED baskets are more in demand because of the unique designs that  enhance the looks of every individual who purchases.

What are their prices? 

Although the plastics we use here are recycled, the prices are reasonable, budget friendly, and vary depending on the sizes, styles, and number of high-quality plastic wires used to build a single basket. We also tailor our services to the preferences of our consumers, and our prices vary depending on the locations we deliver to and the extras we add on.

What are the many product categories you deal in?

We are  dealing with 5 categories of which 85 different wire baskets, 14 different designs of clothing bags, raisins  jewellery, spices and lastly paintings(cause). 

What are your  Shipping charges and handling?

Our handling charge is a flat 70 -100/rs for the local and if it is for the different states or city it charges 150- 250 rs. Shipping charges vary based on your location and the products you have purchased. For an accurate estimate of shipping charges please proceed through the checkout process, entering in your items and address.  

I ordered the wrong product. What should I do?

We will consider taking the product back, subject to a 25% restocking fee on the items plus any shipping & handling charges. The customer is responsible for shipping charges to and from Thalir-LEED for both the returned product and the new replacement product. All returns must have prior authorization from Thalir-LEED, and be shipped back to Thalir-LEED office within 7 working days of receipt of the items. Products must be returned in the same or equivalent packaging (ie. cold and insulated) as originally dispatched by Thalir-LEED. Once the item is received by Thalir-LEED, we will dispatch the replacement product.

How do I cancel my order?

If you need to cancel your order please contact us at our website or call us on the same day. Please keep in mind that we strive to process and ship orders the same day (if received before 1pm IST), and once the order has shipped you will be subject to our return policy.
